YOUR SIGNATURE ON THE ENTRY FORM SHALL BE CONSTRUED AS ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS

ALL jumping classes will be judged in accordance with BSJA Rules.  ALL dressage classes will be judged in accordance with BD Rules.

TELEPHONE entries or entries without the appropriate fee will not be accepted.  Entries will not be refunded except under the relevant BSJA/BD Rule.

THE Organiser reserves the right to cancel, add to, or amend any of the classes as it thinks fit;  alter advertised times;  refuse entry without stating the reason.

THE decision of the Organiser and Judges is final.

HEALTH & SAFETY:  Reasonable precautions will be taken at each event to ensure the health and safety of all persons present.  For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and obey the instructions of the Organiser, Officials and Stewards.
 
In particular, the following must be observed:
i)  Dogs, bicycles, roller blades and similar items are not allowed on the Showground.  Dogs must be confined to the owner’s vehicle.
ii) Horses must not be tied up outside lorry/trailer and left unattended.
iii) If you suspect your horse/pony has been in contact with ANY infectious disease, please do not attend any event at this Centre.
 
THE CENTRE’S HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY  IS DISPLAYED IN THE SECRETARY’S OFFICE.

STALLIONS:  No member of the BSJA shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury (Rule 82.21).
NB: This rule applies also to members and non-members of all organisations competing or preparing to compete at all events of whatever kind held at this Centre.

PROTECTIVE headgear must be worn by ALL persons at ALL times whilst mounted.  All riders competing in jumping competitions must wear the current BSI standard hat, with chinstrap fastened, even when using the practice jumps.  Body protectors are recommended for show jumping.  Correct riding dress MUST be worn by all competitors.  Hair must be fastened so as to be no longer than shoulder length.  Competitors are required to parade mounted and properly dressed to receive their awards;  failure to do so may incur disqualification.

HORSES/PONIES MUST COMPETE IN THE ORDER DECLARED AT THE COLLECTING RING. Any competitor not responding when called will be placed at the end of the list.

PRACTICE JUMPS must be jumped from the correct side;  failure to do so will result in the competitor being eliminated from the competition.
MISUSE of practice jumps, whips, equipment or saddlery will be reported to the BSJA/BDG.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY:  Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Organiser, the Organiser, its Officers, Servants or Agents shall not be under any liability for injury, loss or damage, however occasioned, suffered by Competitors, Spectators, their property,  Servants or Horses in connection with or arising out of its events.

OBJECTIONS, accompanied by a deposit of £10, must be made in writing to the Secretaries within 15 minutes of the incident.  Such deposit to be forfeited if the objection is not sustained.

A SURCHARGE OF £3.00 PER RIDER PER DAY TOWARDS FIRST AID COVER AND OFFICIALS’ EXPENSES WILL BE MADE AT SANDS FARM EC SHOW JUMPING EVENTS.
